I also have a philips 642/37. It is much more dependable than our KiSS dp450
that I got when they first came out. The zoom controls on the 642 are not as
good as the KiSS was tho.
The only issue I've had with the Philips is the video is sometimes way off
color or other similar malfuntions with XviD files, but that is easily fixed
by just opening the players menue and exiting....it usually (99% of the
time) solves the problem.
I have never had a problem with any DivX file that I encoded using the same
manual method Gordian Knot that Ive always used ( I now use v.33...started
with v23 i think). I think the sync problem may be caused by multiplexing
the audio/video with Virtual Dub, instead of Nandub. I always use Nandub for
splitting, appending. multiplexing and rarely have any sync problems. I seem
to have better luck hitting the exact filesize I want with DivX than with
Xvid.

On another note...whats with all the freaking trolls posting the crap
pictures in this group? Dont they have enough courtesy to post them in a
binary group like they are supposed to? Maybe theyre just too lame and
ignorant.
