Golden or lead, I can hear artifacts in every MP3 I've ever listened to
irrespective of where and with what it was encoded. Don't like what I
hear.

All I can tell you is that I've got about 26 hours worth of music on my
20 Gig iPod and I've only used about 7 gigs. Seems like a lot to me, but
I guess YMMV.
