I want the TV capture in the PVR. If you are going to put the TV out
in the PVR, just as well put the TV in there too.
I don't even need a large HDD in the PVR - the smallest for routine
operating system needs is fine. I want a DVD player in the PVR. If you
are going to do that, might as well make it a recorder too. There may
be the odd occasion that the LAN is down, and you need to save to a
DVD.
Althought the main storage HDD is on my computer, I do want the rest
in one box for convenience.

So are most torrent providers. The favorite is the 1/2 CD size (350
NB) for one 42-minute episode. The developer of Auto Gordian Knot
recommends XviD.

As mentioned above I want everything but the main storage HDD on the
PVR. I want the main storage HDD on my PC for several reasons:
1) I can use conventional HDDs and not some special crap that only
works in the PVR.
2) I have the editing s/w on my PC so it is natural to have the
content I will edit there too.
3) The main reason is because I can put the HDD in good-quality
removable bays and swap HDDs in and out.
If, however, I ever built my own PVR out of a PC, I would put a
removable drive bay on it just in case I wanted to swap the HDD in and
out of it for convenience.
