This should be fairly simple for you to figure out for yourself.
Determine what the costs will be for materials and expendables,
equipment rental if needed, crew if needed.
Then figure out how many hours you think it will take of your time.
Determine how much you want to be paid per hour for your work.
Add everything up and bingo, you have the answer.
As far as wedding pricing goes, snoop around some of the videographers
in your area who do weddings, have your wife or girlfriend go in and
pick up a price list if possible. This should give you a range of
pricing currently being charged.
BTW, are you really sure you want to get into wedding gigs?
I shot stills of weddings for many years and it was bad enough back
then but the way society has changed.....are you really sure you want
to put up with "Queen for a Day" and worse yet, HER MOTHER!
I wouldn't touch weddings with a long pole and in my 20+ years in
video I think I have taped 3 and those were all for personal friends.
This will probably get me attacked viciously but my first thought was,
if you have to ask how to put a price on work, should you even be
considering the gig at all. Are you a working professional, a hobbyist
or a wannabe?
Asbestos underwear on :-^)
