Doug - When an $1,000 or $1,800 player is considered 'mainstream'... ;o)

I have a feeling that when players come down to the sub $300 level or so we
will find that they all are capable of playing back CDs despite players that
cost 3 to 6 times as much not offerring that feature. But, that's a total
guess on my part.

I'm not aware if HD-DVD requires this either for that matter. But, I'm not
sure.

As I said - yes, it sucks.

Bleh, that's going to hurt mainstream sales. Not many people are going to
want to keep their CD/DVD player around in addition to their new Blu-Ray
player.
