The various commentary proceeding from and including Ms Biceps original
post is ludicrous.

Why doesn't someone who actually knows what they're talking about
intervene before the presumptuous rhetoric blows all common sense 'out
of the water'. Otherwise I might be tempted myself if I wasn't such a
curmudgeonly old bugger.

Cameras operated and or owned to date, that I can remember

Sony

5 x PD 150's
4 x PD 170's
2 x VX1000's
1 X DVX100
1 x PD100
1 x PDX10
1 x XM1
3 x Z1
1 x A1
1 x FX1
1 x DSR 500
1 x 537 Hi8
1 x 537 Bet SP
1 x D35WS DVCAM
1 x D35WS Beta SP
1 x D35WS Beta SX
1 x DVW 700WS
1 x DVW 790
1 x 805 Hi8
1 x VX5000 Hi8
1 x VX200 Hi8
1 x DSR 200
3 x 326
1 x DSR 300
1 x DSR 250
1 x BVW 200
1 x BVW 300
1 x BVW 400

Panasonic

1 x DV100
1 x DVCPRO 25

JVC

1 x KY17
1 x KY25
1 x DV500
1 x HD101

Canon

1 x XM1
1 x XL1
1 x XL1s
1 x XL2

Thompson

5 x OB remote

Ikigami

1 x Editcam
1 x DVCPRO 25
1 x DVCAM

Out of all the above for our high end corporate and broadcast work which
have been retained as useful one might ask?

3 x Sony Z1
1 x Sony A1
1 x JVC HD101

We also hire in HDCAM

That's all, the rest are obsolete.

Would I prefer a PD170 (not PD150) to any other small chip DV including
the XL2, the DV100 and the JVC DV500? Without a doubt!
