Maybe you should take some of your existing movie material on dvd-r
and dvd+r (dual layer too?) with you to check compatible issues...
most of the time it's not an issue on these cheapo's i had some
trouble with a Philips player, that had as one of the first that time,
a HDMI connection, a lot of media just simply did not play, a second
production model of the same type, did also very bad, so i got my
money back, and they did not sell that model in their store anymore,
with the "comming" of that much new digital technoligy you get more
digital protection scemes...
check out (if you have) your dvd (pc) writer for the CPRM mechanism :(
