FIRST SEASON, FRAGGLE ROCK: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, GILMORE GIRLS:

AMERICAN GOTHIC: THE COMPLETE SERIES (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
score 93/100):
"After years of longing for the series to be released, I'm thrilled that
it is available at last -- and that it still holds up as a gripping
experience despite the intervening decade of increasingly sophisticated
supernatural TV series."

DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.: SEASON TWO (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall
score 77/100):
"This show is less realistic than someone interpreting two dog-barks as
'Timmy's trapped in the well.'"

FANTASY ISLAND: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Cynthia Boris,
overall score 80/100):
"You're going to think I'm crazy when I say this, but I don't remember
Fantasy Island being this dark. Seriously. I'm not kidding here."

FRAGGLE ROCK: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Adam Arseneau,
overall score 90/100):
"The show is a microcosm of a multicultural world, a metaphor for young
minds to strengthen notions of friendship, co-operation, harmony, and
diversity, and, above all else, learning to love that which is different
from you. Awwww."

GILMORE GIRLS: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON (reviewed by Ryan Keefer,
overall score 85/100):
"Six discs of quality young adult television, and there's nothing to
inspire any prospective new fans to the show, aside from the possibility
of incestuous desires that folks like Seth McFarlane have suggested at."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/gilmoregirlsseason4.php
HOGAN'S HEROES: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by James A.
Stewart, overall score 87/100):
"What made Hogan's Heroes funny enough to stick in your head years later
like a song lyric was the dark vision of human nature seen in the
relationship between the manipulative good guy Hogan and his two German
foils, Klink and Schultz, and the show's take on the corruption of
power, as embodied by Gestapo agents and the Luftwaffe leadership.
Although the dialogue's often clever, the cast gave the show its edge."

THE MUNSTERS: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Paul Corupe,
overall score 82/100):
"The Munsters aren't out to kill, maim and torture torch-bearing 19th
Century villagers -- they're just trying to get along in their middle-
class suburban world like everybody else."

TOO YOUNG TO DIE? (THE TRUE STORIES COLLECTION) (reviewed by Patrick
Bromley, overall score 76/100):
"It would be easy to review the 1990 made-for-TV movie Too Young to Die?
with two words: rent Kalifornia. Both films feature Juliette Lewis
(Natural Born Killers) and Brad Pitt (Fight Club) as white-trash nomads
who kill people, with the major difference being that Kalifornia is
actually quite good."

WALKER, TEXAS RANGER: THE FINAL SEASON (reviewed by Brett Cullum,
overall score 85/100):
"You gotta love a show that has a formula so simple they even know what
kind of cars everyone will drive. The 'bad guys' drive Fords. 'Good
guys' who die drive Chevys, and 'good guys' who live drive a Dodge.
Walker, Texas Ranger spoke a language of cars to impart its message.
Cars, and kicks to the throat."

WAR OF THE WORLDS: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Jeff Andreasen, overall
score 70/100):
"For all the inadequacy of the acting, I feel something could have been
made of this series had there been more diligence paid to the direction
of each episode. It is apparent what veteran leadership could have
brought to the show when you see how much better episodes with proven
talent are than the rest."
