Yes, it works. But be aware that some apps can't deal with the sound in
AC3 format, which most DVDs use. If you rename a .vob file to .mpg and
open in some NLE programs, you'll have a silent movie. Converting to
..mpg with something like Womble you can choose the format for both the
video and audio separately.
