I just thought many of us could relate to being the first to invest in a new
technology only to find that the technology changes or evolves in a VERY
short period of time. I guess it's kind of like a commiserating thing, it
helps to hear that others have been in this same boat. It seems
particularly relevant these days as new technologies and formats (1080p, HD
DVD, higher resolution monitors, bigger screens, and new projection formats
just to name a few) seem to CONSTANTLY be arriving on the scene with VERY
high price tags (just look at this year's CES). Unless you are fabulously
wealthy (and willing to toss out last year's gear), the best we early
adopters can do is choose what we THINK will be the standard for the future.
That was my point, and I was wondering of anyone else has been frustrated at
the FRANTIC pace of A/V changes.

In fact, it seems like now is about the worst time EVER to invest in an
expensive A/V set-up as the SO MANY DIFFERENT VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES are
fighting it out. Again, just look at this year's CES. Standards? Forget
it!
