You shouldn't. It's just not true. Sometimes yes, but VERY often
no.
But salesmen in exclusive esoteric Stereo/Video stores love to
say it to people like you. Of course, the thing is that THEY
KNOW they are lying.
I remember playing around with a $3,000 (or something) Revox
(ever heard of them? They made the best 4-track sound-on-sound
reel-to-reel ever made, many moons ago) CD player about 12 years
ago. It would simply reject/not recognize some of the discs
other players (expensive AND cheap) played with no problem. It
especially didn't like the MFSL gold discs. Kind of ironic since
the idiots that would buy MFSL discs remastered from old analog
tapes - and pay triple for them (and let's not even get too
deeply into "labels" like Chesky which don't care how shitty the
actual >>>music<<< is, as long as they can charge 30 bucks a CD)
are exactly the same people that would buy a Revox for 3 grand.
I bet you own some (if not all) Chesky discs, don't you?

You are SUCH a good consumer. Do you trade-in your car every
year? Every 6 months? How many cars DO you have?

Frankly, I can't believe you are not embarrassed by your
attitude. Can you even name ONE single director, composer,
singer, band that you actually like and watch/listen to a lot,
rather than just looking at your equipment (preferably with
your neighbors present) and rubbing your fat tummy?
