If you don't clean the heads, you run a small chance of this happening.
Panasonic is the preferred choice of most professional videographers.
I really don't care which one you buy. I have made the same
recommendation, however, to literally HUNDREDS of people and told them
specifically if I'm wrong, call me up and tell me I'm a liar and I'll
swap out the tape for them. Hasn't happened yet.

Use whatever you like but the Panasonic professional series is a higher
quality product AND at a lower price. Really.

You can use DVCAM. They are compatible with each other and DVCAM is a
higher-quality product but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
