My parents got an Eltax HT-153 DVD-player/receiver (all-in-one).

But it has trouble playing DVD+Rs written with my Plextor 716A
at 16x CAV. It plays perfect at the start (close to center) but
as the laser comes passed the middle and closer to the outer edge
of the DVD it starts to get "blocks/squares" in the video picture
and audio faults (so it's clear that it gets read errors).

No other players I have tested (not even a cheap chinese Matsui)
has any trouble with these DVD+R (they are Plextor 16x DVD+R).

Any idea? Would slower writing speed help (12x P-CAV or 6X CLV)

What is the difference between CAV, P-CAV and CLV anyway?
Will some of them give better "marks" in the dye than others?
