Because helping them helps the US. And we do take care of ourselves.
There's SS, soup kitchens, pantries, etc, for the hungry. Poverty is
unavoidable if people are allowed the freedoms given them in the US. Even
usurping the freedoms doesn't guarantee an end to poverty unless you
regulate procreation and instate capital punishment for what we view as not
even crimes. Clean up the streets, again, is something that is very
difficult in the US and any country afforded the freedoms the US affords its
citizens. Educate the kids... well... there's a place you could make real
changes by repealing the left wing nonsense that has plagued the school
system for years and totally made the schools impotent in maintaining
discipline. The streets, etc, would benefit as well from better discipline
in the classrooms and better education. But, then again, we'll have every
low life parent in the city bitching that their baby was spanked, even
though that baby is 16 and told the teacher to fuck themselves. Oh well.
It's the price you have to pay for freedom.
