Well I'll be--it does show up in Windows Explorer. I didn't realize
this, because I had long ago ditched Windows Explorer for PowerDesk (an
after-market explorer, with. But it turns out PowerDesk (at least the
version I have, v5) doesn't know about the MP3 player (although it sees
all the flash drives I've tried). But in this case I see the player
just fine in WE, while it's invisible in PD (even after closing and
re-starting PD).

Well, back to WE for this.
