Initially the HD market is for those people making money from video,
Being able to offer HD services will allow them to generate more
income per job or win jobs vs the competiton. This will vary greatly
depending on you r geogrphic area and the videos you produce.

We're also getting calls from video enthusiasts with gorgeous home
theaters and medai rooms who want to be able to show their own footage
of family & vacations in all it's spectacular HD glory.

It will still take a couple of years for HD to reach down to the
consumer level. DV looks great and so do the DVDs we can make from it.
But over time, we'll all be migrating to HD

Not going to argue that. Unfortunately they ran into the "perfect
storm"'. Key components of the Storm hardware became scarce and
Canopus just couldn;t deliver the same integration with Premeire Pro
as they had with P 6.5. To make things more complicated they launched
their own NLE called Edius that discouraged Adobe from working as
closely with them as they had in the past.

Grass Valley now owns Canopus and I think we're going to start seeing
more Canopus technology in the future that may return back to the
glory days of the DV Storm.
