I highly recommend the NRG Varalux Proffessional. It has a varible
"pot" that goes from 'off' to '100%'. I use the lowest power to tape
my close-ups. I can crank the power to 100% and tape people (guests)
probably 50 feet away with good results. It is great to adjust the
power of this light for my needs to get a good picture.
I also recommend the Bescor Battery model BES018 12v / 18amp. You
should get the package deal that comes with the charger that works
great and doesn't overcharge the battery. I did buy an extra battery
(by itself) at a latter time for backup for extra long weddings etc.
The battery does last for a considerable lenght of time (use) depending
on the amount of power needed for your shots. Total price for all is
around $300 I think. I have used this combo for many years with no
problems and still using the same original lamp (bulb). I know you will
be happy with this package as others I've told, also like this and use
this same package. Shop around for the best price!
