Wrong tangent Frank.

If you pay for car insurance, and get no policy number, you are really in
the shit up to your eyeballs.

Unless you can tell me the name of a company who will sell me a car and
self-insure it, without the need for policies?

Anyway, it is illegal to drive a automobile without some kind of insurance,
so bit of a oddball point.

That is all well and good in the theory of the concept, the seller DOES
self-insure. But, tell me Frank, if a seller does self-insure anyway, what
is the point in advertising that fact? And before you answer, there are many
ways to skin a cat.

I understand that, and accept that point entirely.

But then, buyers who pay for surface mail, generally except an item to take
longer to arrive. No one is suggesting Postal Insurance is the quickest
option, but buyers have a right to receive exactly what they understand they
are paying for.

It saves a hell of a lot of hassle down the road (and the OP proves that!)
