Well, either you have a DiSeCq switch, or you don't. If
you do, then you must connect ALL dishes to the switch
inputs for dishes, and then your C-band dish will be
one of the selections. For example- connect your C-band
dish to DiSeCq port 1, and your Ku-band dish to DiSeCq
port 2. A DiSeCq switch is a switch external to your
receiver, placed in-line before any dishes. It allows
you to select any one of a number of dishes (depending
on how many ports your DiSeCq switch has).
It sounds like you're turning off your DiSeCq switch
completely for your C-band dish? (Which would disconnect
the dish from your receiver....)
There are connection diagrams on the internet that you can
look at to compare what you have set up to see if everything
is hooked up properly. Then you have to configure your
receiver (in the setup menu, normally under Antenna or Dish
setup) to match your dish and DiSeCq switch setup before
doing any searching.
Also, transponders are turned on and off all the time. If your
receiver was manufactured as little as two months ago, what
you're looking for may no longer be available. Check lyngsat.com
and satcodx.com for the latest transponder listings. It's best
to start your search with an up-to-date transponder list programmed
in to your receiver to receive the most channels (and to minimize
search time scanning inactive transponders).
