But I hate mucking up my computer by installing RealPlayer, which is
necessary for some feeds. Has anybody tried RealAlternative? Does it
work in streaming mode?

I've read that you can simply connect a stereo cable from audio out to
audio in on your soundcard, then use any recording software.
