Hi,

Is there any benefit in using a BarcoGraphics 6400 3000 lumen projector
over a smaller-sized "normal" projector, bulb costs aside?

I've been given a quote for an Eiki EIP-3500, and have already purchased
a cheap used BG6400. The total cost for both projectors after installation
are quite similar. Is there a big advantage in keeping the Barco?

The Barco's advantages that I can see are remotely-adjustable optical lens
shift and zoom, and a strong reputation. I would imagine they'd have higher
reliability than smaller projectors.

Uniformity is also better, but is not very important for this application.

Does the (much!) bigger lens make a difference?

This is probably an itchy point, but how accurate are these ANSI lumen ratings
across manufacturers?

The projector is for a fixed ceiling install in a small auditorium with
quite a bit of bright lights around. Its main use would be for powerpoint
slides, with the occassional DVD. Video quality is secondary to powerpoint
image quality.
