I would ask, what are these bootleg anamorphic transfers mastered from?
If they're just upconverted from the existing laserdiscs, the quality
difference between them and the new DVDs would probably be marginal. If
someone actually has a high-res bootleg master of the original trilogy
floating around, which is capable of making true anamorphic transfers,
I'd have to wonder why it's not on every street corner.

Just curious.
