This article (itself not exactly documented) describes the
involvement of both Doyle and Kipling in advocating rifle
clubs and ranges, but never so much as suggests that they
worked together in any way. ACD was certainly interested
in encouraging civilian marksmanship as part of his proposals,
following the Boer War, to improve British military tactics
and preparation, but his involvement was limited to the
neighbourhood immediately surrounding his home in Sussex.
