As I have already reiterated a half dozen times, IT IS NOT MY POINT THAT
YOU HAVE TO USE I.T.M.S.

MY POINT IS THAT I.T.M.S. IS THE ONLY MUSIC STORE THAT WORKS WITH IPOD
AND IPOD IS THE ONLY MP3 PLAYER THAT WORKS WITH I.T.M.S.

Right.

The CD will have the same quality as the AAC's or WMA's it was made from
(which is to say, less than perfect, since AAC and WMA are lossy
formats). Any MP3 you make from that CD will have a double loss, since
MP3 is also a lossy format. Oh, sure, you could rip that CD to a
lossless format. Then you'd have ~700kbps lossless files with the sound
quality of 128kbps AAC or WMA. What a beautiful waste of space.
