Care to stop misquoting me? The full quote to which I was replying was:

Which is not true. "WMA players" can be used with several Windows
flavours as well as Linux distros. Likewise, you are not locked into
WiMP. For example, I use a Creative Zen Micro. This "WMA player" has its
own software, supports WiMP, and is also drag-and-drop capable. It may
work with even more software, but I won't bother to try, because I'm
perfectly happy with drag-and-drop, thanks you very much.

Maybe the original poster has had some bad experience with a "WMA
player" that would not work with anything but WiMP. But to say point
blank that "WMA players lock you in to windows and wimp" is a non-sequitur.

"Designed to work together" is one thing. "Designed to work ONLY with
one another" is something else.

Can I use iTunes to put music on my Creative MP3 player? How about on an
iRiver? A Samsung? A Rio? A Dell? A Sandisk? A Sony?

Can I play Napster, Puretracks, Bonfire or Yahoo music on iTunes/iPod?
