That's not a fact, that's a qestion, you silly fuck.
And the answer is, the iPod plays PCM, Apple Lossless, unprotected AAC
and MP3.
How about other MP3 players? Same story - PCM, unprotected WMA and MP3.
Okay, not /all/ of them play FLAC. A few do.
If you want my opinion, Apple should have given their larger iPods with
a half-decent DAC and headphone out before bothering with lossless
format support. Lossless on the iPod is like lipstick on a pig.
