You're pretty close to right. They are mostly myths about Macs that
aren't ture.

If you go back and read the archives of what I said about tape you'll
see that I had a lot of the available data and either you or someone
else dismissed it as "manufacturers' hype." The specifications ALL
come from the manufacturers, not some independent testing lab. I
provided quite a bit of data but it seems to serve your purpose to tell
half-truths and ignore what I brought in. Saying all you got is
"everybody uses it" is simply not accurate. I never said THAT, and I
certainly didn't say ONLY that.
To add to the prior discussion, I am attempting to gather what other
information I can from both of the major manufacturers to see if there
is any data of use. The most common spec we used to refer to in
analong, average dropout/min is not in any of the materials I've ever
received. It is my opinion that this is more critical in digital than
ever before.

What I find on these newsgroups is that once I express an opinion on
one product that someone doesn't like it taints everything else I say.
That's tantamount to the conclusion that if your mechanic votes a
different political party than you do the he doesn't know how to fix
your car.
I have never tried to hide the fact the personally, I prefer Macs. At
the same time I have never based PCs or their users and repeatedly
stated that their are applications for which I would buy/use PCs.
There is nothing wrong with having a preference.
As for tape data, I am culling information in my spare time (hah!) in
the hopes of adding something significantly more substantial to the
discussion as soon as possible.
Sorry you find me tiresome. I guess you can killfile me. Boo hoo.
