I purchased a set of Star Trek Next Generation Dvd's on e-bay. Seller has
been around awhile, sells boxed sets of dvd's, and has many good reviews.
Dvd's came in cellophane-wrapped, printed boxes, with Chinese all over the
boxes and the dvd labels, though the episodes themselves and the
instructions and menus on the dvd's are in English.
The main menu and the first program of the four on each disk play perfectly.
But beginning with the second program, the playback plays images funny and
freezes up for short to long lengths of time. This problem has happened on
two of the dvd's so far, and the second has no scratches on it whatever.
A Star Trek Deep Space Nine I got also looks like a Hong Kong pirating job,
but it plays perfectly.
I am playing them on a new Phillips dvd player-recorder that is not having
trouble with other dvd's.
What specifically is the problem with these dvd's, is tehre a workaround for
the problem, and how can I avoid it on future dvd's?
