In summary, until Russians change their laws or their courts change their interpretation
of current laws, the site is legal to operate in Russia. If the consumer is in a country
where downloading of copyrighted material isn't illegal, then all the industry can do is
moan, groan and buy lawmakers.
This statement is rather ironic: "These collecting agencies are thieves and frauds because
they accept money while pretending to represent artists". IIRC, a certain online music
store started out by claiming to benefit artists, a claim they quietly dropped long before
the first million sale.
