When installing TotalRecoder I take default option of using it's driver.
I record using .mp3, 128kb bit rate, 44100Hz.
For capturing web sound, stereo mix from Soundboard. I use line in a
lot, same settings, just check the line in option.
To edit out commercials etc. and split into smaller sections I use free
download mp3DirectCut.zip. It's a little better at cutting than that
built into TotalRecorder.
