 Well, my system is to go to dvdhelp.com :-)
 
 Enough kidding: I suspect that there are some engineers around who can
 read the machine code of the processors in some of these machines
 (reverse engineer or disassemble are a couple of names for what they
 do).
 
 If so, they can search though the code for ways to hack. They might
 discover, as Frank Zabkar suggests, a simple test in the code that can
 be hacked easily to change the result of a test for regions to always
 OK.
 
 They might also discover code that responds to remote key presses and
 figure out a sequence of commands that turns off region testing.
 
 Some people  might just have the patience to do endless testing. That
 would not include me, I suspect :-)
