Most people in groups such as this are MORE than willing to admit, if
not ask for help, when something they've purchased doesn't work they
way they envisioned. Lord knows there are those who wear it like a
badge and make it their mission to make sure everyone else thinks ill
of that particular solution...and if others don't have the same
experience then they are wrong, stupid, amateurs, blah blah blah.

You were not a fool for laying out cash for Apple gear. It didn't work
as intended and that's unfortunate. The early versions were certainly
lacking but I don't know any current users who consider it to be a
"buggy, poorly coded mess."

Doc's experience sounded like a real nightmare. Bottom line, if Apple
really was as aloof or inept as he described, I would likely have
dumped them for a PC-based Avid as well.

The new Adobe collection is marketed as having dramatically improved
capabilities. I'm not sure what to think - while After Effects has
remained a staple for PC and Mac users alike, we rarely run into anyone
using Premeire beyond event videographers. Perhaps this version
deserves more attention but it's going to be hard to unseat FCS and
Avid users, perhaps even Avid Liquid in some instances.

Chances are I won't have time to investigate a great deal on my own. I
guess I'll have to read one of those reviews from people who know less
than everyone else : > .
