Of course! They have established a market which they now dominate. This
is the aim of every commercial business. I can't imagine any business
which is answerable to shareholders behaving any differently. However,
in the short and medium term I would suggest that this has been
overwhelmingly in the best interests of consumers ... but in the long
term I agree that this will *not* be in the consumers best interests.
There either needs to be an obvious commercial advantage to Apple in
changing their business model, or legislation (or a real threat of it)
to force the change.
