And to add to your comment, I also have this question: why would you
want to archive your video to a format that has inferior picture quality
anyway? DVD is a consumer only format. It uses way more compression
than the DV format does, and plus it is only MPEG-2. Therefore,
compression artifacts are much more noticeable with DVD, than they ever
will be with DVcam or miniDV.
