Sounds like a config file somewhere might be set to read-only.

Check out C:\Program Files\Creative\MediaSource
and see if any files are read-only.

Apart from that, I don't know what the problem might be, sorry.
You might find better help somewhere else.

I *can* recommend reinstalling MediaSource. That should almost certainly
fix the problem.
