Thanks for all the help everyone!
I finally traced down the problem. It was a bad CD. I had Nero do an
error check after burning and the original disk was full of errors
even with slow speed. I had bought a box of 5 of these several years
ago. I opened another and it worked great. Are the RW CDs better now
than they were several years ago? Do they go bad with time?
Still would like any additional ideas on the best media.
