Newbie, here, confused about the TWO fields available when ripping an
audio CD to MP3 using Nero and Lame:

Encoding quality: choices are 0 (highest/slowest) to 9
(lowest/fastest). I get what this means.

When I select the Variable bitrate radio button, I have another field
available, also containing choices from 0 to 9, but with no explanation
of what that setting -does.-

Anyone know?
