Are you going for the churchy-type Monteverdi music or for something really
low and folky? If the latter, find music by the City Waites, the Broadside
band, the Noise Minstrels, or The Musicians of the Globe; I recommend, for a
great piece of 'rock music of the day', The Jolly Broom Man' by the City
Waites; take the version on their album How the World Wags (another good
album of theirs is Low and Lusty Ballads).
Here's t' you with cup of English beer...
(PS that's the penultimate line of that song),
