One functions... the other doesn't.
Size doesn't matter. By the time anyone that could afford a burner
for data storage purposes wanted one, holographic storage mediums will
blow std optical discs out of the water.
Besides 2 or 3 HD DVD burned discs is likely far cheaper than some
lame reliability multi-layerd single BluTurd disc. I'd feel safer with
a bunch of reliable single layer back ups than one less than optimally
reliable multi.
This is, you see the actual best point. Even today, a single layer
DVD feels safer to me than DL does, that is why I have no DL burner.
