Hi all, not sure where to go with this and I know a few people here have
experience of scams etc. so thought Id see what anyone thinks.

About 2 months ago my wife and I paid a decorator to do 2 rooms in our
house, they started and all was well but then the boss had to go to hospital
for a hernia op and all work was put on hold. Now we can;t get hold of
anyone except his right hand man who says he's not seen him, he's out of
hospital and owes all his guys money as well as having ours.

Stupid I know to pay first, but thats by the by now.

Question is where do I go from here, police, citizens advice, I have a
receipt off him with a company name on it, and I know his name, a trip to
his address was a no joy trip so really stuck and out of pocket now

If anyone can offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated
