So far, most of the major studios are behind HD DVD because its cheaper
to produce recorded DVDs in that format compared to Blu-Ray. I do not
think it is wise for consumers to get excited about either technology.
It is foolish to buy hardware to read either Blu-Ray or HD DVD media
right now. I for one will wait until this controversy simmers down and
the entire industry settles in on one type of medium or the other or
until a hybrid player is available that can play both types of DVD media
in one box at an affordable price where affordable is < $300.
