Unless there is 100 percent take up by all the studios both formats will
sit in limbo. Nobody is going to start updating their cheap to buy dvd
collection to newer sharper versions until they have to (or unless they
are rich). Most people on this planet can't afford HD yet. If anybody
thinks that Blueray will help make the PS3 win the console war they are
mistaken. By 2009 we'll probably all be streaming the video singnals
from our PC's to the TV anyway, much like minidisc it will probably be
superceeded by multiformat digital files and stored on hard drives. Much
like UMD's I think the format will fade as soon as sales drop and the
format will just be used as a ps3 storage medium.
