That doesn't have to be true either. The market can support both,
and will as long as the makers of the goods are happy with the profit
numbers.
You saying that one has to win is like saying that there has to be

All the wussies in here have been crying about this even higher res
shit that won't even be manufacturable for years to come like it is
what is gonna take over tomorrow. Sorry... tomorrow we already hAVE
what is taking over. A higher res world, with two perfectly
acceptable optical playback formats that will both do quite well.
Too bad so many of you are so wrong about all of it, and want to wait
around. By the time you all play, the party will be headed toward
wrapping up, and the next party will be starting, and you'll all miss
THAT ONE AS WELL.
