I'm thinking about getting a portable music player such as an MP3 (the
smallest type, which is "flash-memory"), clipping it onto the back of
my tennis shorts, and hitting balls on court. A guy seemingly tried
this, at
<http://groups.google.co.uk/group/alt.music.mp3/msg/3a3c971560ddd501?hl=en&>.
One probably couldn't do serving, or overheads, just groundstrokes and
volleys.
If anyone else has tried this or something similar, do you have any
comments, e.g. on the following:
I guess my shorts won't fall down -- the device weight might be only
2 ounces (which i think equates to about two business envelopes each
containing two pieces of paper), and i'll tie the shorts' drawstring
tight.
I guess the best place to hold the device is clipped to the waistband
at the lower back, with wires running up the back to the "earbuds" in
my ears.
You couldn't really strap the device above your left bicep as runners
do, because then the wire would jerk around as e.g. you extend your
left arm back on a one-handed backhand.
Maybe you could use a strap around your chest like runners do (with
heart/lung monitors or whatever).
Also, i also want to be able to use the music player in a room that has
no sound system, and to do so without headphones. So do portable music
players have speakers or docking systems? I know the Apple I-pod Nano
does (e.g. it has the Bose SoundDock), but what about non-Apple
products? (e.g. Samsung, Cowon, iRiver)
