I ran into a lot of problem with the 0.8.5 and I simply revert back to
the 0.8.2. What do you need on the 0.8.5 that is not available in the
0.8.2? Try stormplayer, it has a broader range of codec and seems to
be more forgivable, .........., I have used it only once though.
Regarding the problem that you have, I sometimes solve it by going
into task manager and turn off VLC manually, then the problem of file
loading resolves. It apparantly does NOT turn off itself right for
the 0.8.5 version.
BTW, the first answer "you may proceed......." is a joke, dont get
offended :)
Hope this helps.
