Not the house we saw in the movie (which was made in that back-lot),
but the house on Kensington. The song mentions the address, although
they changed the address of the next door neighbor to rhyme. My
mother-in-law lived on that street a couple of blocks away. The
author of the book's old two family flat is still there, although her
family moved to New York and she missed the Fair. Her book had her
and the neighboring boy the same age - but she was "Tootie", the
macabre little girl. A few blocks away were neighborhoods that
looked like the Hollywood neighborhood.
