Experienced the same thing with my XL-1 even after complete servicing of the
lens by Canon factory. I would get around it most of the time while shooting
both my Vietnam War Movies (features) by holding down the "Push AF" button
on the lens locking it down the entire time I was shooting the scene and
this helped most of the time but even then while doing stunts the lens would
rack focus on its own any time the stunt players moved too fast. Pissed off
the stunt guys when I had to do another take. Only way around this seems to
be get a better lens and more patient stuntmen.
