Best advise I can give to any FNG is to buy the book "Shot to Shot" by
Stephen Katz. He explains things such as the triangular system for camera
setups and other Hollywood trick of the trade. Start there and make
movies--lots of movies. I dog eared the shit out of the book and have it
with me on the set to refer to from time to time since I DP my own features.
It has helped get me out of a tricky problem on more than one occasion.
