Not a virus. YOu have to remember, all any computer is doing is binary math.
Modern computers are basically a bunch of different computers in one box.
Everything runs on checksums. If the checksums are screwy, your computer is
screwy. The file was corrupted, most likely deliberately to screw with WinMx
users.

I had a web based catolg site about ten years ago. One day Network Solutions
uploaded corrupt ISP files to the web. A bunch of sites just plain
disappeared.
