There's a number of DVDs that I've been waiting and waiting to come out on
DVD in the UK and they haven't yet.

They've been in my various queues for DVDs for some time now, and it's
annoying that some of them - particularly Heart of Darkness, The Dick
Cavett Show - Rock Icons, and Underground - are available in other
countries but not in the UK. Also, the Fassbinder classic films like the
Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, etc. When will these films finally get
their DVD releases in the UK? Is there a list anywhere?

The Horse's Mouth (Neame, UK 1958)
Aberdeen (Moland, UK etc 2000)
Tromeo and Juliet (Kaufman, USA 1996)
The Merchant of Four Seasons (Fassb'der,Germany 1978)

The Children of Heaven (Majidi, Iran 1997)
Baran (Majidi, Iran 2001)
Mvahltur (Gumundsson, Ice 2001)

The Dick Cavett Show: Rock Icons (various, USA 2005)

Modigliani (Davis, USA 2004)

Take Care of my Cat (Jae-eun J., S.Kor 2001)

Angel (Jordan, Ireland 1982)
25 Watts (Rebella/Stoll,Uru 2001)
Smell of Camphor, Fragrance of Jasmine (Farmanara, Iran 2000)
Don't Torture a Duckling (Fulci, Italy 1972)
Institute Benjamenta (Quay Bros, UK etc 1995)
I Love You, Alice B. Toklas (Averback, USA 1968)
Irma Vep (Assaya, France 1996)
I Stand Alone (Noe, France 1998)
I Am Curious Yellow/Blue (Sjoman, Sweden 1967)
Le Grand voyage (Ferrouki, Morocco 2004)
The Calamari Wrestler (Kawasaki, Japan 2004)
Alice (Svankmajer, Czech 1988)
Conspirators Of Pleasure (Svankmajer, Czech 1996)
Underground (Kusturica, Yugosl 1995)

Most of these films are out on VHS in the UK and have already had an
international DVD release. Obviously some, as with the Dick Cavett and the
Ferrouki one, I'm being a bit impatient as they haven't been out long
elsewhere... :-) however, some of them are really taking the biscuit).

Why does it take the industry here SO BLOODY LONG for a DVD to come out?
Then they worry about losing money to pirates, P2P downloaders, or people
buying them for their multiregion DVD player from overseas.

If they moved a little quicker, it would be much better.

If anyone in the industry is reading this, I'd appreciate an answer. I've
been waiting for some of these films to come out for years. It's ridiculous
- the industry will lose more and more money if they don't start getting a
little snappier with their releases!

PS I'm not expecting to find out the dates of the releases, just a general
answer to my question. However, if anyone does know whether they will be
released soon, then that would be appreciated - and I won't need to look
elsewhere to get hold of the DVDs).
